October 2021
(Left) In celebration of Hallows Eve, Oct. 30th, Keaau Key Club organized a Trunk or Treat project. Key Clubbers from Keaau went to their school, along with many other clubs and organizations, to help with this Halloween-themed event. Their goal was to distribute candy to families while they drove by the school. Members helped decorate a festive tent before the event, introducing themselves to the people and welcoming them. Participants also dressed up for the occasion. By participating in the event, Keaau Key Club connected with their community to spread joy during the holidays.
(Mid) One of the many projects/activities Kapaa Key Club offered during October 2021 was Halloween Baking. As part of this project, members baked Halloween themed treats to share with family and friends. A member, Casey Bernade, baked sugar cookies shaped like bats and pumpkins, and decorated them with icing and decorative sprinkles. They were shared with some of her close friends, family members, as well as some people from one of her classes. The project was meaningful to Casey because her love for baking was incorporated into the project, and she saw how her peers enjoyed her cookies. Through her baking skills, she was able to provide for her community and create better connections with others, such as her classmates.
(Right) Kauai High Key Clubbers made Teacher Appreciation Cards as a service project for October 2021. Teachers at Kauai High were thanked through a card written and decorated by Key Club members. Throughout October, the members would meet via Google Hangout every Friday or Saturday evening and create cards to express their gratitude to their teachers. The students had the option of creating cards for specific teachers or general cards they could give out to different teachers. Many of the students enjoyed getting online to meet their friends and showing how much they cared for their teachers using their creative abilities. Among the writings were "Thank you for being a great teacher!" and "We appreciate you!"

(Right) On September 18th, 2021, Kaua'i and Kapaa Key Clubbers collaborated on Zoom to create Healthy Lifestyle Posters. The evening began with introductions and icebreaker questions to get everyone acquainted. To generate ideas for the posters, a slideshow presentation was used to illustrate a zoomed-in view of healthy habit pictures, such as drinking water, stretching, and running. Once people were given the idea and instructions on how to make their posters, they worked diligently while music played in the background. The project was a success and the members from each club had a great time working together.
